What Do You See??

As we journey through life, our skin tells a story. Laughter lines crinkle around our eyes, the sun leaves reminders of joyful times on our cheekbones, and time whispers wisdom through a few new creases. While these are natural and beautiful parts of aging, many of us would like to look younger than we appear.

So, tell me, what story do you want your skin to tell? Are you ready to rewrite the narrative of aging, focusing on health and inner radiance?

It’s More than What We See

Underneath the skin are layers of tissue. These layers support what we see on the outside. These layers contain substances called collagen and elastin. They are responsible for the youthful firmness and bounce our skin exhibits.

Our skin ages due to two main factors: intrinsic (internal) and extrinsic (external). Intrinsic aging is our genetic blueprint. It determines the pace at which collagen and elastin production occur. At the same time, external factors like sun exposure, stress, and poor diet work against the underlying layers of the healthy, glowing skin we would like to display. How can we harmonize these two factors to create the smoother appearance we would like to see?

Nourishing Your Skin from the Inside Out

Good nutrition plays a crucial role in combatting the effects of aging on your skin. Think of your body as a factory, and food as the raw materials. By choosing wholesome ingredients, you supply your skin with the building blocks it needs to stay healthy and vibrant.

Key Ingredients for Glowing Skin:

  • Antioxidants: Think colorful fruits and vegetables! Berries, leafy greens, tomatoes, and sweet potatoes are packed with antioxidants. They neutralize free radicals that contribute to the damage you see in your skin.
  • Essential fatty acids: Salmon, avocado, and flaxseeds offer omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. These nutrients help maintain cell membranes and keep skin supple and hydrated.
  • Hydration: Water is essential for plump, healthy skin. Aim for 1/2 your body weight in ounces per day.
  • Protein: This is the building block of collagen! Lean meats, fish, eggs, and legumes provide your body with this vital protein.

Delicate Balance

It is important that we consume all the above nutrients and in the proper amounts. Equally important is how efficiently your digestive system functions for your body to be able to create healthy collagen. Unfortunately, as we become older, we eat less, so we eat fewer of the important nutrients we need for optimal health . And, the digestive process slows down and works less efficiently. Add to that, our current fast-paced lifestyle that works against good nutrition and good digestion and it is no wonder that our body looks older than we would like!

So, rather than experimenting with amounts of foods, I have found a way to supplement my collagen directly. It is a new product that has all natural ingredients, is safe to use and has had glowing reviews. Be on the lookout for my before and after pictures soon!

Embrace the Journey

The aging process is beautiful and unique. By understanding the factors at play and nourishing your skin from within, you can enhance its natural radiance and change the story your skin tells.
